For tolerance and freedom of expression in Cambridge

The English Defence League hopes to have over 400 supporters marching through the streets of Cambridge this weekend to protest against the proposed new Mill Road mosque. Unite Against Fascism (UAF) and the Cambridge Trade Union Council (TUC) are organising a counter protest. We should rejoice in the freedom of both sides to air their views, while refusing to engage in their debate.

Coleridge by-election

I haven’t been manning this blog for while due to conflicting pressures on my time, although I have been working hard on the new, re-invigorated Cambridge Conservative Association website (http://cambridgeconservatives.org.uk).

I was on the streets again last weekend though to support Andy Bower, the Conservative candidate for Coleridge which has a by-election following the early retirement of Councillor Chris Howell.  It feels good to be there! Continue reading
